Guys, fun little sidenote, other than "14 seasons" being a clear joke at the show, 14 seasons is actually 3 and a half years. When does Tucker, Donut and Tex leave Blood Gulch? Halfway through Season 3. Likely unintentional but it works.

  • Dreadnaught64

Remember all those alternate endings from season 5? Well one of them was that the Blood Gulch Chronicles were all one of Church's dreams right after he had gotten shot by the tank. Tucker and Caboose were there after he woke up, but there was also this green guy, Jenkins. Church just told him that he wasn't in his dream like Tucker and Caboose. I thought it was a fun Easter Egg, throwing his name in as the fourth option

I think whoever wrote this episode made a mistake because in episode 41 they say that there are only 49 agents and say that something bad happened to Florida which Tex, Tucker, and Donut all acknowledge and look sad on. Which means either they knew waaaaaaaay back then that Captin Flowers was a freelancer or the writers completely forgot about this joke and wrote in this conflicting backstory for Flowers.

    • landergaave

they were talking about the state, not the freelancer.

To be fair, there ARE only 49 Freelancers. The missing one just isn't Florida. Agent Carolina takes up two states, North and South Carolina. The Director and the Counselor apparently caused the STATE of Florida to be flooded in order to excuse AGENT Florida's disappearance when he took over Blood Gulch Outpost Alpha, seen here.

[Potential SPOILER:] I think they're all AI's in training; that's how they interact with Church. These are all likely Freelancer "states" with likely future failure records, such as Florida/Flowers. But the ultimate goal is to correct corrupted flaws in cloned AI's meant for wider availability to the soldier population in general.

    DONT TALK ABOUT VEGAS

  • IronMagus

How does Alpha-Church remember the fight at Sidewinder (the snowy Freelancer base) from Season 8 when he was already Epsilon-Church by then (not to mention it hadn't happened yet)? Or was he referring to something else when he talked about Tex fighting someone in the snow? (I presume the whole "her beating Private Jimmy to death with his own skull" is just a mixed-up memory fragment, and isn't something that ever actually happened in Leonard Church's life. And why would that be "the last thing he remembers," anyway?)

EDIT: Nevermind, I guess they were there (Tex and Alpha) "earlier," in Season 10.

    • DayyOnyx

If you haven't picked up on it, the actual fight was Tex and some others vs Project Freelancer loyalists. The Mother of Invention crashed onto Sidewinder, if I'm not mistaken. (which I probably am, need to go back and watch again)

    • NathanJacks2

No they are talking about a completely different fight where Agent Tex fought some Blue army soldiers on SIdewinder.

Private Jimmy was stationed there, along with some others, and all Church remembers is Private Jimmy being beaten to death with his own skull as repressed memories from Jimmy. (Because Church is in Jimmy at this point)

    • NathanJacks2

This was mentioned in Season 1, when I think he was talking to Caboose about Agent Tex when she showed up to help them fight the Reds

    • Evil_Paragon FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

Just because no one has got this right, Alpha was referring to Tex fighting Carolina when the ship crashed, which was corrupted with Jimmy's memory of being on Sidewinder.
Snowy area and Sidewinder "fused" in Church's mind so he thought the fight took place on Sidewinder. He also remembered Jimmy saying his physically possible skull line and that got corrupted because Church's logic is that Jimmy was the one that got attacked, not Church himself.
We can see proof of it being Carolina because Flower's holds his gun up at the mention of Tex. Who could Tex have been fighting that would have caused Flower's to pull the trigger? Tex has fought no one on the snow before that Alpha has seen or even the audience has seen.

So, in summary, Captain Flowers (aka Agent Florida) was assigned by Command to supervise the Blood Gulch simulation (which was cobbled together out of the least competent, least qualified soldiers imaginable) in the hopes of keeping the Alpha (aka Church) indefinitely isolated and occupied. A series of accidents and fuck ups, however, turned it into the bizarre shitstorm of crazy people that we now know it to be. And Vic(k?) was a computer.

    • DeriqueFlowe

No, we always knew that. They never directly addressed it but it was heavily hinted at the end of season 5. Also, on Vic's computer it says Virtual Intelligence Computer at the bottom.

Church would have never been blown up, meaning he never would have become a "ghost." Tex also wouldn't have shown up and unleashed the Omega AI on Blood Gulch that forced Reds and Blues into a truce, same with Doc. They either would have killed each other in the 5 years they were stationed there or by the time they were re-assigned, Washington would have no need to search for Caboose and Church as they would have no experience with AIs (Omega). The Meta probably could have hunted the Alpha and without help Church would be taken. Meta wouldn't need to stop Washington with the Reds, so Sarge would still be at Blood Gulch with Simmons and Grif being at Rat's Nest, with all the Blues there still alive. They never would have learnt they were simulation troopers, never would have taken down Project Freelancer and never would have been shipped home only to land on a planet in a civil war charade run by Malcolm Hargrove. Epsilon would either be captured by the Meta, captured by Charon or still be sitting in it's location at the Freelancer Base that got EMPd in S6. Felix and Locus after a few more years would eventually whittle the colonist away without the need for alien plots and the Purge and without the colonist ever knowing their true faction.

So no, they would never have gotten the map from Santa.

Flowers had the perfect setup, Private Jimmy became Churches new host body to fool him and anybody else that he was a real person, Setting up everything up with Vick and picked the worst solders for each team.

Which also explains why Churches body smelled when he died in season one even though he was an A.I.

The only things that F***ed it up were as follows: Captain Flowers tripping over the power supply to Vick and exposing him to the damp environment thus screwing up him and the soldier deployment to Blood Gulch, Caboose obviuosly and a time traveling Church giving Captain Flowers aspirin.

He was snipped in the head...
Sure, he could be in Armourlock like Sarge when Caboose shot him, but we don't know how long that last. He's been locked for at least 3 years if that's the case (When FILSS releases Armourlock for "All units"), Donut was locked for just under a year for comparison. Donut also had direct access to a medic when he came out, Flowers only has Sister. There is also a possibility that he wasn't taken out of armourlock and he was forced out after 5 years, when Project Freelancer was destroyed.
      Or he's still in AL.
There's an extremely slim chance Flowers is still alive.

  • AngusJameson

  • Eagle2992

My theory is the second list of names are failed freelancers. Caboose could have been/or was about to be a freelancer. The director is still running operations and after losing a lot of his Freelancers, it would make sense that he would recruit new ones to replace the ones he has lost. It would explain why Caboose is incredibly strong, Is pretty ninja in a fight and in training simulations. I've never believed that Caboose is an idiot, but more psychotic (which may explain why he never made it to being a Freelancer/Lost job as a Freelancer)....He has no fear, and over the passed seasons, he has been labeled as a "true warrior" by Santa, took on Tex bots by himself, while if you notice the rest of the team were working together. He is able to communicate and has a very advanced understanding of technology and AI- his relationship with "Sheila". He has also been the most loyal to Church and wants to be his Best-est friend which may indicate that maybe, he knew who Church was all along- May have been briefed by the Director before being sent to Blood Gultch.

    • MASDERCHEEF

There's one problem with that theory; that list also includes Grif's sister (Kaikaina), Donut, Jenkins, and Andersmith I think it's just a list of other simulation troopers.

    • KyleBaker

Well Caboose was of average intelligence before Omalley. Church and Tucker had to reboot his armor (and for some reason didn't take the helmet off beforehand) so he had to hold his breath for like an hour or something. It was the oxygen deprivation that made him moronic.

ok, i just have to point out one thing real quick, who is Jenkins? from the list, after grif's sister, there is the name Jacob J. Jenkins, then Cornelius Thromwell Andersmith, now i know that Andersmith is another reference to when Church goes into the Epsilon unit and the "dead Soldier" andersmith, but who is Jenkins, I don't remember there being one, so why is that name listed, ok, that's all

    • Mutiny_N648

I think in one of the season 5 endings, Church wakes up after he gets shot by caboose, and there's a random green soldier named Jenkins. Also in some sponsor cut from season 6.

    • Mase_RvB_246

There is a couple Jenkins... One at the beginning of season 9 when agents putt and North Dakota are on a mission and it does a quick scene of two men walking on a patrol and one of the men are complaining that Jenkins doesn't have to do guard duty and that he does, the man complaining was talking to his friend on patrol, his name was Murphy, also Jenkins was the name of a random green character when sarge was imagining how they deleted the blues from the data base back at command and at the end caboose says "man... I wish I was on red team, what do u think Jenkins?" My theory is it's an old soldier from one of cabooses old bases

It's crazy to think that the last three episodes were the causes of the Blood Gulch Chronicles, but in reality, all of the events of the show would never happen if Agent Florida tripped. Caboose would've never been sent to the simulation, he never would've shot Church, so Tex would never have been sent to Blood Gulch. Leading to the absence of O'Malley, which would also stop the death of Florida. I just wanted to point that out.
