    • Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday, What a Decade! A retrospective.

      BricBrac Eagle Scout and Explorer

First, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanza, Happy Festivus, and anything else!  I hope you had a great one!

Second, I just noticed I missed my on site birthday which was December 11th.  Ten years ago I joined the site after watching for months first.  Wow.  A whole decade that RT has been a part of my life...  That is pretty significant, at least to me.

A lot has changed in 10 years-for instance, when I was 16 I had no facial hair but I now have a full beard and sick handle bar mustache.  I've graduated high school, gone to community college, graduated with my Associates there, transferred to another college, made some life long friends, graduated with my Bachelor's there, worked as a camp counselor and program staff at the greatest camp in the world, made friends there who are as close as brothers.  I met my (now) soon to be wife-even though she was dating one of my close friends then-and began a relationship with her after I had graduated the college we had been at.  My brother started high school, graduated, and has moved on to other things.  My sister is graduating high school this year.  I lost my Grandma to heart failure, almost lost my Pap due to other issues, and saw my great uncle pass on.  I lost my cat, but have gained three dogs, one of whom is buried under a blanket at my feet right now.  I've watched friends come and go.  I've grown myself, and learning skills I never thought I would know.  I've become Wilderness First Responder Certified.  I became a youth group leader and have watch my group of guys strengthen and grow physically, mentally, and spiritually.  I went on three mission trips to Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, leading the youth kids while there.  I've traveled and seen some amazingly beautiful places.  I have camped on the banks of the Rideau River, couch surfed around campus, completed multiple 50 mile canoe trips down the Allegheny River, and more.  I've been a ropes course facilitator, Sportsworks presenter, apartment cleaning and maintenance, pharmacy clerk, janitor, lot attendant, comic artist, writer, computer programmer, and more.  Now I am preparing for my greatest task, becoming a husband.  The Lord has been good to me, and I strive to follow Him and give Him all of the glory in everything I do.

Through this whole decade RT has been apart of it.  I remember the first RTX, the first Extra Life Stream, the premier of the RWBY Red Trailer, the loss of Monty, when Church turned out to be an AI, the first Gauntlet, Nature Town, the premier of the Drunk Tank, the inklings of the Lazer Team idea, and Adam and Joel's How To's.  I remember all of the studio moves from the Congress office and beyond.  I've grown up with RT.  I don't watch TV except for a few shows (who doesn't love M*A*S*H?), and watch a few show on other streaming services, but largely RT is where I come for my entertainment.  RT shows are my favorite shows (especially when I can identify with David from Camp Camp so much).  RT, you've have been a constant in my life through a lot of changes, making me laugh when I'm down, putting a smile on my face when I couldn't myself.

RT, you, my family, and God have been the three constants in my life over the past ten years.

And I'm looking forward finding out what the next 10 years bring.  Merry Christmas, and here's to many more.

Oh, and have a Happy New Year's!

    • Buff Buddies Update #2

      BricBrac Eagle Scout and Explorer

I know, I'm a bit behind. So this update is going to cover how Week 1 and Week 2 went, my workout plan from Week 2 and Week 3 (this week), and how this week is going so far.

Week 1 went okay for a start. I ate better and healthier, and I did pushups every night, but I only did additional exercises a few of the days. On the weekend I went on a youth retreat with one of the youth groups I help with-and eating right was very difficult. Portions weren't as small as I had been eating at home, and we had pizza for dinner or after dinner for two of the nights. But I didn't miss pushups at all.

Week 2 I had the same workout plan as Week 1, I didn't do any extra exercises till I signed up for the YMCA on Thursday with my two week pass. I did 4 miles on the exercise bike Thursday, and 5 on Friday, with lifting weights too on each night. I missed my pushups two nights. I ate healthy every day, even getting a salad when my brother and I stopped at Wendy's for a quick dinner.

Week 3, the same workout plan with the addition of the 5 miles biking at the YMCA and weight lifting there. I have missed my pushups two of the nights this week on Monday and Tuesday, but have been at the YMCA both nights biking 5 miles and lifting. As of now I haven't done much in the way of other exercises, but plan to be doing them today as I will not being going to the YMCA. It's my birthday and we are going out for dinner.

My starting weight was 176.6 lbs. with the goal of losing 15 pound or so-whatever it took to lose the gut I have. My weight hasn't much changed much to my disappointment and I guess that is because I haven't been working as hard as I could, but I have noticed that I am increasing in muscle mass and the gut has shrunk, which is good. So I am hoping that over time this trend will continue-especially if I pick up the pace.

Watching what I eat tonight and tomorrow which is Thanksgiving is going to be a bit difficult, but hopefully I can manage.

If Josh Flanagan can do it, then I can too.

      Updated Workout Plan:

      > 3 Sets Each, max of 60 seconds rest between eat set, doing at least 4-5 items of the 8 each day as time permits, not missing the same items consistently. ( 5 Times a Week)

      - 40 Jumping Ts

      - 30 Box Jumps

      - 40 High Knees

      - 40 Sec Wall Sit

      - 10 Push-ups

      - 10 Low Squat Jumps

      - 20 Sprinters

      - 10 Mountain Climbers

      > Weights (3 Times a Week)

      - 15 Arm Curls at 8 lbs. or more (depending on what's available), with 4 reps

      - 15 Chest Press at 20 lbs. or more, with 3 reps

      - 10 Rows at 8 lbs. or more (depending on what's available), with 3 reps

      - Add others if opportune

      > Cardio (When at YMCA)

      - 5 mile/30 min on bike or 10-15 min jogging/running on treadmill

      - 10-15 Laps in the pool

      > Diet

      - Continue to eat better and limit sweets to a minimum.

I am going to stick to this and get it done!

    • Buff Buddies Challenge Accepted.

      BricBrac Eagle Scout and Explorer

I am taking up the Buff Buddies Challenge. I've been slowly trying to get into better shape, mainly by eating better, but it is hard to stay motivated to consistently exercise. So I am taking up the Buff Buddies Challenge to help me get motivated to consistently work out.

My goal: Lose the gut/15-20 pounds, start to get my abs back, build my chest and shoulders back up. Also, boost my endurance.

      Workout plan, coming soon.

    • Obligatory Journal Entry Because I'm Feeling Guilty

      BricBrac Eagle Scout and Explorer

So I was feeling guilty about not writing a journal in a long time. When I look back at previous journals, I seem to have a track record for posting one a year-except for three years back when I posted four in one year, which is weird. When I did post, most of the time there wasn't much substance to them.

To remedy this, I plan to start posting more often and about more interesting things. I don't anyone read my journal entries or would read them anyways, but who knows. Whether anyone reads it or not, I'm going to do it anyways. Feedback, comments, discussion, and more are always welcome on my posts too!

Take care! I hope you are all doing well! Can't wait for RvB Season 13! smiley13.gif

      End of Line,

I may or may not get around to that. It HAS been something I have been wanting to do for a while, but with all the art trades and requests I need to finish before I leave Texas for Israel Im not sure Ill get around to it for weeks, if not months.

We shall see. The recording for the first episode is already done but the next one will have to wait until I arrive in Israel and find better programs to do this with. Im guessing the next one will be in about a month. So around the next PSA? Not the new one, the one after the one this Monday.

Yes they are hidden blades. They are plastic because i don't trust myself with real blades. Um my dad actually made these, but they are on a slider and there is wire going down the side in a tube that is hooked to and arm with an spring and when you pull the top the blades shoot out. Um check youtube for some tutorials but if you would like i can make a video showing the parts and how they work.

1.) Its an airsoft gun, so its fake
2.) Its a replica of the XM8. It was a part of the XM trials to see which company would produce the newest standard weapon for the U.S. Military. Unfortunately, the project was scrapped, and the winner, the FN Mk. 17 (SCAR) was later cancelled due to trial issues.
3.) The airsoft gun itself is a piece of shit. If you see one, Dont buy it! No matter whose the company who produced it.

I had a red a blue version as well, to trade with. Other than that, mostly just a lot of time. The only tricky one was Mew, which I got by way of the Level 7 glitch. But yeah, mostly it just took a while.
