    • Black Panther and Storm Are Getting Back Together in Marvel Comics? | I.G Comic News

T'Challa, the Black Panther, king of one of the Marvel Universe's most powerful countries. One of the smartest heroes, a man with almost limitless potential...has once again come face to face with one of his greatest loves: Ororo Munroe, known as Storm of the X-Men.

Six years ago, Black Panther and Storm's marriage had been annulled due to the Avengers vs. X-Men war that pitted the two against one another. After the event finished, we see Storm and T'Challa maintaining their friendship, but it was only kept at that up until now.

In the recent issue of Black Panther, Black Panther #172, writer Ta-Nehisi Coates has T'Challa and Storm discussing one another. T'Challa starts off by commenting how she's a Goddess, but Storm is one of Marvel's most intelligent and wisest female character, was having none of it and tells T'Challa that between them, "There can be no titles". She ends off by telling him that she is forever hers.

These two powerhouses have had a complicated relationship even before the war between their teams, but it's also one of the longest that I can remember. Longest as in age wise, not publication. They met when they were children and I can guess that they're both somewhere in their 40's. This issue does make us wonder if the two of them will finally remarry and if they do how will this affect the future of both the X-Men and Wakanda?

    • Black Lightning Executive Producer Says Vixen and Supergirl Reference Means NOTHING | I.G TV News

      Donjre

Four weeks ago, during an episode of Black Lightning, the show name dropped two characters from other DC CW shows. During a conversation between Jennifer Pierce, played by China McClain, and her mother Lynn, played by Christine Adams, they jokingly referenced both Supergirl and Vixen. This had fans of the show believing that there was either another version of Supergirl and Vixen on Black Lightning's world, or that the show does take place on the same Earth. Recently, executive producer Salim Akil addressed the issue, saying the lines were just added for fun and nothing serious.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Akil had this to say:
"We are in our own world. We’re not in the Arrowverse. We’re not in the Supergirl universe. We’re in the Black Lightning universe. If there’s ever a crossover, Supergirl will come to Freeland, or Green Arrow will come to Freeland.”

This isn't the first time their shows mentioned characters from other shows that have little to no possibility of crossing over. Earlier during this season of Arrow, Oliver Queen played by Stephen Amell mentioned Bruce Wayne. Currently, the show Gotham is the only production that is aloud to use Bruce Wayne's character on television. The reason that Bruce Wayne's name was used was because Stephen asked if he could say it as a joke and the show runners agreed with no intentions of bringing the character into the CW Arrowverse.

This isn't a new thing, shows, books, comics, movies, every form of media does this. You know them as teases, I call them easter eggs. Halo has Red vs. Blue easter eggs, Marvel comics has DC comic easter eggs, M. Night Shyamalan's films are just filled with easter eggs of his own films. There are some though that are more of useless than others, having no point of being other than just...being. The one that always comes to mind is the end scene of X-Men: Days of Future Past where Strkyer's eyes turned yellow to indicate that it was Mystique who had captured Wolverine and put him into the Weapon X Program. Bryan Singer later came out during an interview to admit that he did it just to do it and that the scene would have no effect on the upcoming X-Men films.

    • Billy Mitchell, The King of Kong, Has Been Stripped of His Title | I.G Gaming News

      Donjre

Billy Mitchell, quite possibly one of the most famous video game players out there, had his lofty high score on Donkey Kong scrubbed away. For many years, Mitchell held the world high score on Donkey Kong, a whopping 1,047,200 points; in fact, Mitchell was considered to be the first person to make over one million points on the game. Even when others eventually overtook the score, the fact remained that Mitchell was the first, or so it seemed.

Mitchell first achieved the impossible score in 1999, and since then has been an interesting staple in the gaming community. He was one of the main focuses in the 2007 documentary, The King of Kong, which centered on a man trying to beat his famous score. He did appear to have a bit of an ego however, as evidenced from the time he sued the creators of the cartoon, Regular Show, for poking fun at him.

Earlier this year however, the supposed VHS footage that showed him attaining the impossible score in Donkey Kong revealed something interesting; the transition screens in the game weren't the same as those found in the original game. In response, Twin Galaxies, the organization that keeps track of high scores over classic games, launched a two-month investigation to determine whether or not Mitchell had cheated to get his score.

Yesterday, the results came in. Twin Galaxies announced that they have determined that Mitchell's score did not come from an original, unmodified Donkey Kong arcade cabinet, that he will be stripped of his title, and that he will be banned from participating from the competitive high score leader boards in the future.

As of now, Mitchell hasn't formally commented on this turn of events, but either way it is a shocking turn of events for the man who was originally thought to be the best Donkey Kong player in the world. It's doubly ironic, given that in The King of Kong he had disputed another player's high score for the game, Missile Command, causing said player to be disqualified. Not to mention, the parody character featured in Regular Show had actually cheated to get his high score.

Interestingly, while his title for Donkey Kong has now been stripped from the Guinness World Records, his other claim to fame, the first perfect game of Pac-Man, remains. Time will tell if his other achievements will be considered legitimate in the eyes of the gaming community.

    • Images of Starfire, Raven, and Beast Boy from 'Titans' Hit the Web. Are They Good? | I.G TV news

Yesterday, images from Titans showing Raven, Beast Boy, and Starfire were released. In case you are unaware, W.B is in development of a live-action Teen Titans show that will air on DC's streaming service. The show was announced a few years ago, said to air on TNT until they lost interest. A year after after we were given a list of characters the show would center around and their actors. There's little chance of the show being connected or even crossing over with the other shows: Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow due to them being on different stations.

The first image shown is so far the most controversial one. Above is an image of Anna Diop who plays Starfire. Yes, her skin isn't orange and her uniform is a bit...open, but something we should note is that we're unaware of what this episode is about or scene this is for the show. For all we know this is Starfire undercover, so try to hold comments until we see future images and a trailer that showcases the CGI that will be used for her and the other characters.

The second major image is one of actors Ryan Potter and Teagan Croft in their costumes for Beast Boy and Raven. Again, Beast Boy's skin is not green in this scene but like I said, wait until more comes out before judging. However, his jacket is near spot on to his original red and white uniform he debuted in. There's not much to say for Teagan's Raven. Dark purple clothing with a gothy feel, and pants.

Titans is set to release later this year on DC's streaming service.

    • Warner Brothers & DC Finds New Writer to Replace Joss Whedon on the 'Batgirl' Film | I.G Movie News

      Donjre

***https://youtu.be/3wQZfDmUz_s*** in case you don't want to read

Last year, director Joss Whedon, most known for his role in Avengers 1 and 2, had practically made himself the head writer of the Batgirl movie. In February of this year, Joss had chosen to step down after admitting that he had no real plan for the film.

For those of you who wondered why Joss left Marvel for Warner Bros and put his attention on Batgirl, DC had apparently allowed him greater creative control for the film. Whedon has written powerful female characters such Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the some of the cast from sadly canceled TV show Firefly. His connection to Batgirl can be compared to how Brian Michael Bendis has been asked to work on Fox's Shadowcat script, as Bendis also has shown his skill with making female leads.

Even with Joss gone, Warner Bros. has continued pushing towards getting a Batgirl film off the ground. Yesterday, April 8th, the news that Christina Hodson is to write the script for the film was dropped. Hodson had written for W.B last year on the movie Unforgettable. She is also the writer for the upcoming Bumblebee solo movie. If her experience doesn't muster confidence, Hodson had also worked on the DC all female lead movie, Birds of Prey which was reported to have Batgirl in it already. In other words, she's written Batgirl before.

It's way too early to give any assumptions on Batgirl and Birds of Prey, however, W.B/DC's recent films haven't left much confidence in many of the community. My only hope is that DC has somehow managed to find the magic formula that helps create an amazing female comic lead. Sorry Marvel, but until that Black Widow and Captain Marvel film drop, DC does have an edge when it comes to their female characters.

    • Blizzard Release Overwatch Comic and Trailer for Next PVE Event 'Retribution' | I.G Gaming News

      Donjre

***https://youtu.be/66iglQ1yve8*** <<<in case you don't feel like reading

Tuesday, Blizzard teased a new upcoming PvE mode for Overwatch called Retribution in the form of a new comic and hinted about it in a recent Developer Update video. The announcement of this new mode followed on the heels of another Blizzard announcement, stating that the Uprising event from last year will return and that it will be in the format of Overwatch Archives, essentially tales revealing the group's past adventures.

The comic itself follows the mysterious Blackwatch, a group within Overwatch eight years prior consisting of McCree, Reaper, Genji, and Moira. Their mission will take them to Italy to kidnap a Talon operative named Antonio. Rumors about the announcement of a new PvE mode similar to last year's Uprising began to circulate, especially since the 4-man team follows a similar format to the way Uprising was structured.

If you don't follow the backstory of Overwatch, Blackwatch is a covert group within Overwatch that carries out black-ops missions, lead by Gaberial Reyes aka Reaper. These missions are always kept under wraps and out of the eyes of the public. It was actually the discovery of Blackwatch that started the fall over Overwatch, creating distrust between the people and the organization. If what we're lead to believe is true, Retribution is that event.

Indeed, a new trailer formally announcing Retribution has been released, with the player taking control of McCree, Reaper, Genji, or Moira on a brand-new map set in Venice. The mode will be available from April 10-30.

Ever since the introduction of the team, fans of the series have been asking for more content based around Blackwatch. We had gotten skins of the characters during the time in Blackwatch, but seeing as I don't play the game, the addition of either a comic or short would've been a major addition.

    • Casey Neistat Announces His Next Vlogging Series "368" | I.G YouTube News

***https://youtu.be/LeJGTrMsLvY***if you don't feel like reading

Last month, March 13th, Casey Neistat had released a video saying that he was going on break from creating regularly scheduled vlogs on the platform in order to create something new. A quote from Casey himself, read from an Eqsuire Middle East magazine, says, "What I'm doing next will be the most ambitious undertaking of my career, the biggest swing I have ever taken. It will be built entirely around where I know I can be successful.".

For those who aren't subscribed to Casey or don't really know his content, let me fill in the blank. Casey Neistat is a world famous YouTuber, known for creating daily vlogs based around his life. In many of his videos, Casey is seen being greeted by strangers on the streets of not only NYC, but all over the globe, cementing his popularity within the community. The main point of his vlogs were to help gain eyes on his tech company, Beme, which had been making an app that had unfortunately failed. After that, Beme was bought for $25 million U.S dollars by CNN. Beme then became Beme News and worked under CNN, however Casey and his partner Matt Hackett announced in January of this year that they'd both be leaving Beme.

Early this morning, Casey had released a video after 22 days of being off camera. In the video, Casey explained that he'll be returning to daily vlogging and that there's an exciting reason for you to watch it. During his time off, Casey had essentially bought an office space for him and other YouTubers, big and small, known and hidden, to work together. The name of the studio is 3-6-8.

The best way to describe 368, in our opinion is that it's an entertainment business. Casey himself is unsure but over time he'll surely figure it out. While it's a bit too soon to ask questions, there is one that scratches the back of our heads. YouTube already has a space for creators to visit, 10 all over the world, one being in New York. The difference here though is that Casey made sure to point how that he loves work with smaller content creators as well. YouTube Spaces however the user is required to have met a certain criteria before being allowed access to the facilities uses. So the question is what criteria, if any, will be put on 368?

Casey is already friends to a lot of larger YouTubers: Peter Mckinnon, Karlie Kloss, Lo

gan Paul, Jesse Wellens, Vsauce3, Phil DeFranco. He's also a fan of shouting out smaller ones who embrace what YouTube is. It's also known he has strong ties with large companies, YouTube itself being one of them. What I'm trying to say is that Casey has a lot of opportunity to push 368 to limits no other solo YouTuber can reach.

    • Deadpool Director Tim Miller Recruits Brian Michael Bendis for 'Shadowcat' Movie | I.G Movie News

      Donjre

Not that long ago we did a story on Fox's updates revolving their X-Men franchise. Dates being moved up or back, plans being revealed for movies, all around the time Disney was able to require their entertainment side. One of the possible films that were in talks was the Shadowcat film that Tim Miller wanted to work on.

It's now been reported that Tim Miller is working with veteran Marvel writer, Brian Michael Bendis on the film, essentially showing that Shadowcat is more than an idea but is coming closer to a reality. For those of you who don't understand how it's possible for Fox to continue making X-Men movies even though Disney was able to buy most of the company, the deal hasn't been looked over and regulated, allowing Fox to do as they were before. We probably won't see a finalization until late this year or maybe even early 2019 if something changes or goes wrong.

Some of you maybe wondering, "Who is Shadowcat?". Well you've seen her in almost every X-Men film, however they never went by her code name. Shadowcat, aka Kitty Pryde, was played by actress Ellen Page for a majority of the film. Yes, the one who could run through walls and somehow send people back in time. The reason Fox probably asked Bendis to come script the movie is due to his connection with the character. Bendis had written a number of stories during his run in the 2012 All-New X-Men series which put Shadowcat in a leadership position.

The movie was given the code "143" which could be a callback to The Uncanny X-Men issue 143. In issue 143, Shadowcat is just a young X-Men who happens to be stuck alone with a demon in the X-Mansion. Fox sure does love putting kids in the strangest situations.

    • Google Will be Going Against PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo in the Console Wars | I.G Gaming News

      Donjre

As if there was nothing else we'd believe Google could take over, the massive tech/entertainment/everything else under the sun has announced more information on how they are planning to jump into the Gaming industry with their own console.

Google's gaming platform, unlike their soon to be competitors, is a streaming service. What that means is that instead of buying games over the counter or downloading them from the PlayStation Store, you'll be able to play them over the internet and not have to lose that precious storage space on your console.

The company has been making moves in the last year towards this goal, such as hiring Phil Harrison, who was an influential player in helping Sony develop the PlayStation and Microsoft on the Xbox. Now industry experts believe that it's likely Google will soon announce their next step towards making their gaming division a reality.

Venturebeat journalist, Dean Takahashi had this to say:
"I think that it’s a good time to start speculating about what’s coming in the future, and a number of people I know in the game industry are already doing that. Harrison is the sort of figure who could marshal Google’s resources and enable it to enter the game console business. I don’t know if that is happening, but that would be a delightful rumor to try to confirm. I interviewed Harrison last year at the Gamelab event in Spain. Since he was on the sidelines of the console wars, he wasn’t shy about sharing his opinions on what was happening in the competition among the major game platform companies."

“When I asked him about the broader game platform companies — like Amazon, Google, and Apple — Harrison said, 'I’m excited about the future. I’m enormously bullish about the future of games, mainly because now we don’t have to explain what this is anymore. There’s an understanding of games among the wider population'

While it's great to hear that these larger companies could be interested in developing their own games, there does come the issue with ones that are stream only types. To be able to stream a game, a player needs to have a "good" connection to the internet--any drop could lead to the game performing at a lower quality or just not working at all. There's also the current issue within the gaming industry that the companies behind the games aren't the best of friends and with a company the size of Google, they could be seen as a threat looming over the horizon.

    • Dark Horse Comics is doing a Series on Disney's 'Frozen'?! | I.G Comics News

      Donjre

When you think 2018 will be the year of letting go, the past comes back in the strangest ways possible. On January 29th, Dark Horse Comics announced on their site that they are working with Disney to release a three-part miniseries on the critically acclaimed animated movie, Frozen.

Joe Caramagna is to write the miniseries and other artist from Kawaii Creative Studios will be drawing. Caramagna has penned a number of series for young readers in Marvel such as The Amazing Spider-Man, Marvel Universe Avengers Assemble, and a few other comics based around other children shows: DuckTales: Treasure Cove and Zootopia. With his level of experience it's very safe to say that Frozen's comic will remain close to the child-friendly material of the movies.

This comes as bit of a surprise for some as Dark Horse is mainly known for creating some of the more hardcore comic book stories like Hellboy, Star-Wars, Sin City, etc. To add on to confusion, Disney owns Marvel, one of the top comic book companies, so as to why they're going to another company is unknown.

On their site, president of Dark Horse, Mike Richardson, had this to say:
"We are incredibly excited to collaborate with Disney on this great project. Frozen has legions of fans, many of whom are here at Dark Horse. I've personally enjoyed repeated viewings with my granddaughter, and I look forward to sharing this new series with her."

The first issue of Disney Frozen is scheduled for a summer 2018 release, along with an announcement of more comics to come from the partnership.
